About Find Me a Ref
Last updated: 26 July 2026
Grassroots sport runs on the goodwill of volunteers, and every week games go ahead without a qualified referee on the day. Organisers spend Sunday nights ringing round for cover. Referees miss out on games they would happily take because no one told them the fixture existed. And when the match is done, sorting out fees is its own small headache.
We built Find Me a Ref to fix the whole of that, not just one piece of it.
What we do
Find Me a Ref is a complete platform for running sports officiating. Clubs and leagues post fixtures. Referees set where and when they will work. The right referee is matched to each game by grade, distance and availability. And fees are tracked and settled inside the platform, so no one is left chasing money.
Who it's for
Referees who want more games with less hassle. Clubs who want to stop chasing cover. And leagues and governing bodies who need to manage officiating across a whole season, with verification and oversight built in.
Our approach
We think the people doing the officiating deserve a fair, transparent deal, and the people organising sport deserve tools that actually save them time. We keep the platform straightforward, put control in users' hands, and take safeguarding and payments seriously.
Founder
Find Me a Ref was founded by Chris, Chairman of Belmont Wanderers FC, one of the largest football clubs in Hereford. Belmont Wanderers was founded in 2011; Chris joined in 2015 when it had two teams, and under his involvement it has since grown to over 30 teams, more than 550 players, and over 70 volunteers. Along the way he has coached children and adults, men and women, across every age group.
Find Me a Ref grew directly out of that experience: the fixture lists, the referee cover, the chasing of match fees, all multiplied across a club that size. It's built to solve the admin Chris saw first-hand running grassroots football, not a problem guessed at from outside it.
Find Me a Ref is operated by McTip IT Limited.
